Canada Ends Mandatory Quarantines for Fully Vaccinated Travelers in Early July.
Health Minister Patty Hajdu announced last Wednesday, June 9, 2021, that fully vaccinated travelers will be exempt from travel restrictions, and will skip the 14-day quarantine, including, the mandatory hotel-stay.
The federal government has not yet set a date for the rules to change but suggested that it will take effect starting “early July”.
Currently travelers will have to show proof of vaccines approved by Health Canada, Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca and Johnson & Johnson, so that they can skip the 14-day quarantine.
Ottawa said it is also working on a “vaccine passport” for travelers as sort of a certification. Vaccine Passports or “Vaxports” will allow Canadians to travel internationally and to be admitted to other countries.
