IRCC Extends Online Study for International Students abroad till August 2022 and still be eligible for their PGWP!

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) announced last Friday, November 26, 2021, the decision for International Students to continue to study their programs online, from outside Canada, and still be eligible for their Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) eligibility once they complete and graduate from their programs.

The extension of online studying comes as part of Covid-19 related measures where any period of studies online since March 2020 to August 31, 2022, will count towards the PGWP without any consequences.

International Students are eligible to complete up to 100% of their studies online during the prescribed and period of extension and still be eligible for a PGWP.

Prior to March 2020, where Covid-19 measures started to take place, online study was not normally eligible for international students to count it towards their PGWP.
